FELDA looking at 3 new imports after dismal performance against Tampines

FELDA United succumbed 1-3 to Singapore’s Tampines Rovers yesterday during the Group G AFC Cup fixture at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Pahang.

A goal by Ivan Dzoni and a brace by Muhammad Khairul Amri Mohammad Kamal helped Tampines Rovers to outclass The Fighters and secure their important victory.

Apart from one goal by Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, The Fighters failed to make an impression on their home ground. What went on was a lot of sloppy ball control and FELDA players being easily dispossessed by the visitors.

FELDA’s head coach B.Sathianathan felt like he was let down by some of his key players during the match, especially FELDA’s import players like Lucas Matias Cano, Mootaz Bellah El Junaidi, Zah Rahan Krangar and Gaston Cellerino.

“Our import players are not performing up to our expectations.” coach Sathianathan said at the post-match press conference. “They definitely failed to make an impression last night.” BHarian quoted him as saying.

“It sure seemed like the local players played much better and gave more impact compared to the import players.”

“I have discussed with the FELDA United management, and we’re currently looking at three new import players during the transfer window later.” he added. The Super League transfer window will be happening from the 15th of May until 11 of June.

However, the coach did not say which import players will be let go and who is staying. All we know is that he’s looking at new import players with more energy and dynamics.

“The visitors showed more energy, they were more aggressive and fast. We need that too.” he said.
