Mora reveals game plan for AFC Cup fixture against Beoungket Angkor

Johor Darul Ta’zim will be taking in Cambodia’s Beoungket Angkor later today for the Group F AFC Cup fixture.

The match will be held at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.

Currently at second place with 7 points, the Southern Tigers will be going in for a -do-or-die clash in order to retain their standings in the upper tie of the table. Philippines’ Global FC is currently on top of the table with 9 points.

Johor Darul Ta’zim’s head coach Benjamin Mora has urged his boys not to underestimate Beoungket Angkor, especially since the opponent’s have home advantage.

Johor Darul Ta’zim defeated Beoungket Angkor at home on the 21st February 3-0, things can take a different twist this time around at the opponent’s stadium.

“We actually have two important missions this week. First, we need to secure 3 points against Beoungket Angkor, and then try to make it even with Pahang at the FA Cup fixture.”

“As for today, the game plan is to get the 3 points. I won’t have Amirulhadi Zainal on the squad – he’s been suspended after 2 yellow cards. I will replace him with Nazmi Faiz Mansor or Shakir Shaari.” Berita Harian quoted Mora as saying.

“Hazwan Bakri has not been playing because he was recovering from injury, but he’s fit for the match today.” Mora added during the press conference. “He’s going to be in the starting XI.”

The JDT head coach also noted that he’s resting a few players to save them for the FA Cup fixture, although he brought 23 players with him to Phnom Penh.

“I have to plan this out carefully. I need a balanced squad for the the AFC Cup and the FA Cup, they’re both important. We want to win and keep that momentum going.”

Good luck JDT!
