#2017IndianOpen: Both Malaysian pairs advance into quarters

Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair and men’s doubles duo have made it to the quarter finals of the Indian Open.

Men’s doubles pair Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong outclassed Malaysia’s Tan Boon Heong who teamed up with his partner Hendra Setiawan. V Shem-Wee Kiong won 21-10, 21-17 to move on to the next round. Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong will be going up against Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen of China in the last eight.

Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair Chan Peng soon-Goh Liu Ying also put up a stellar performance as they sent Indonesia’s Edi Subaktiar-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja packing in just 40 minutes. The Malaysian top seed duo had secured an easy win the first set 21-11. The Indonesians tried to retaliate and came close by still gave in 21-19 to Peng Soon-Liu Ying.

India Open Super Series Badminton Tournament is currently happening at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from the 28th of March until 2nd April 2017.
