With less than four months on the calendar to the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games, MASOC chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong has welcomed national athletes to start using some of the SEA Games venues.
Although he did not specify which venues were ready, he assured national athletes that the upgrading works in Bukit Jalil are expected to be completed in May or June — and athletes can start testing the grounds and getting used to the place.
“Competition will depend on the type of venue that is ready. The main objective of the pre-SEA Games competition is to test the venue, facilities and equipment available at the venues.” Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong said at a press conference.
Apart from that, Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong added that his team are relentlessly monitoring the progress and development of the upgrading works, making sure they are up to the standard set by the SEA Games Federation (SGF).
Bernama noted that MASOC will also be using several private venues for the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games, like Sunway Pyramid for tenpin bowling, Stadium MABA for basketball, Kinrara Oval for cricket, and the Putrajaya Watersports Complex for triathlon, and water skiing.
