Malaysia’s high jumper Nauraj Singh is off to a great start this year as he won the men’s high jump event at the Summer of Aths Championships in Canberra, Australia.
Nauraj Singh emerged overall champion after clearing 2.25 metres in the event. Australia’s Nik Bojic finished close behind him at 2.19 metres, followed by Malaysia’s Lee Hup Wei who finished third after clearing 2.16.
“Canberra is still a good hunting ground for me. Love it here, the crowd and the track.” Nauraj told the media.

The 25-year-old’s next mission is of course, acing the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games. Nauraj is no stranger to the biennial event, he has won gold in two SEA Games, in 2013 and 2015. But before that, he will be participating in two more athletic events in Australia.
In 2016, he registered his personal best at 2.29 m in Kallang, Singapore, which is also a national record that he holds.
Look out for Nauraj Singh at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games from which will be happening between the 19th and 31st of August.
