Isn’t He Supposed To Go To Spain?
Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) intended to send midfielder, Singapore vice-captain Hariss Harun to Spain to play in the 3rd tier, Segunda Division B with CE L’Hospitalet on loan.
However, on the JDT Southern Tigers FB page, Sports Director Alistair Edwards confirmed the move failed to materialize because CE L’Hospitalet have an ongoing tax liability issue and the club is unable to sign and register any player until it is resolved.
This has derailed plans for Hariss to play in a different environment and obtain valuable experience.
However, Edwards did say Hariss will return to Spain in June when the tax liability should be settled by then.
So instead, Hariss is sent to another club and it’s a lot closer where you think.
So Where Would Hariss Go?
Hariss has gone back to his home country, Singapore on the verge of joining Home United (HUFC), the club confirmed.
On their Facebook page, HUFC said the transfer is currently under process and is entering at the final stages of negotiations to bring Hariss in on loan.
Judging by their posts, it seems that negotiations has gone very smoothly and Hariss is set to join the club.
“HUFC welcomes Hariss and would like to extend our appreciation to Johor Darul Ta’zim FC for their collaborative plan to ensure that Hariss Harun maintains his currency and standard of football,”
“The club will ensure that the Sinagpore national team, Johor Darul Ta’zim and HUFC will benefit from Hariss’ professionalism and technical abilities. As a club, we welcome a player of such immense value,” said HUFC in a statement.
How Soon Will Hariss Join Up HUFC?
There are reports Hariss is to start training with HUFC this Saturday.
But with HUFC taking a break from the S. League this week, Hariss is set to make his debut in the AFC Cup next week against Vietnamese side, Than Quang Ninh at home on 14 March.
Home United is currently leading the S. League on goal difference, winning their first two games over Young Lions and DPMM Brunei.
