It goes without saying that Man United fans have not had it easy over the past few years, but the club did have some incredible teams and moments over the last few decades or so, especially under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Most fans would point to their 1999 treble-winning squad as the benchmark of what a football team should look like, but United’s squad in 2007/08 was equally tenacious, if not better. With Cristiano Ronaldo spearheading their lines while Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez provide adequate support in attack, the Red Devils were absolutely unstoppable that year.
But was it always just about these three players? Did it have anything to do with Sir Alex’s tactical brilliance? Or their defensive resilience, given that Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand were both at their prime? We’ve attached a brilliant video by UMaxIt below and this should adequately break things down and explain why United’s 07/08 team was one of the finest outfits ever produced by Sir Alex.
