Malaysia’s national muay thai fighter Muhammad Ali Yaakub shook the grounds and emerged champion at the World Muay Thai Council championship that happened on 6th of February.
Muhammad Ali took on Khalilov Tagir from Russia in the Super 4 Finals in the 57 kg category. After a gruelling 40-minute fight, Muhammad Ali managed to overthrow his Russian opponent to emerge champion of the Super 4- 57 kg category.
The tournament took place in Bangkok, in conjunction with Muay Thai day celebrations. February 6th marks an auspicious day in the Muay Thai calendar where practitioners from all over the world gather to pay homage to King Somdej Phra Sanpher the 8th, who is also known as the Tiger King.
The Tiger King was renowned for his martial arts prowess.
