It is now confirmed that four candidates have been nominated to become the next Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president.
FAM’s Secretary-General, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin confirmed that four candidates were nominated by 20 affiliates before 5PM yesterday.
The four candidates are the Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, The Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, ex-president and current advisor of the Kelantan FA (KAFA), Tan Sri Annuar Musa and the ex-secretary general for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat.
However, he stopped short of revealing the amount of nomination each candidate received. All candidates now have until 13th of February to confirm if they are ready to compete for the role.
Upon confirmation, the final list of candidates will be announced one week later. The new FAM president will be voted in during the 53rd FAM Congress, which is scheduled to take place on the 25th of March.
