Malaysia has gracefully advanced into the Women’s World Team squash quarterfinals, thanks to our diligent national squash team.
Led by Malaysian squash queen Nicol David, Malaysia enjoyed a comfortable winning streak at the recent tournament in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. Malaysia triumphed over Australia 3-0 in the third Pool C match, and have a very good chance of finishing on top of the group.
Last Monday, Malaysia also secured a win over Netherlands.
Squash princess, S. Sivasangari also helped to put Malaysia ahead by beating Australia’s Christine Nunn in a hard-fought battle. She beat Nunn 12-10, 9-11, 15-13, 11-8; all in under 51 minutes of play.
Malaysia still has a tie against Austria coming up this week, and this match against Austria will wrap up their Group C fixtures.
Good luck to both Nicol and Sivasangari!
