The Inter-State Bowling Championship officially ended yesterday and Kuala Lumpur successfully retaind their champion’s title for the third consecutive time with a total of four gold medals, seven silver meals and two bronze medals.
The KL team won the championship through the men’s double, women’s team, men’s youth team dominated the overall men’s event.
Despite their sterling display throughout the prestigious tournament, coach Steven Teng claimed that the team’s performance was rather unstable, if compared to previous years.
“Even though we were he overall champions yesterday, we couldn’t achieve our target of five gold medals. In the first day we were quite worried because we didn’t secure any gold medals,” Steven told Berita Harian.
“On the second day, we only got one gold medal in the men’s doubles event and we managed to t another three gold medals in the last day.”
Selangor stood at second place with four gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals, whereas Sarawak made it to third place with four gold medals and one more bronze medal.
