Sarawak head coach Datuk K. Rajagopal is confident that his side will bounce back in the next game after suffering two defeats at the start of the M-League.
On Saturday, Sarawak lost 1-0 away to Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and 1-2 to Felda United at home on Tuesday. These results put Sarawak at the bottom of the M-League as the only team without any points.
According to him, the fans should give time and space to the players as it has only been two games.
“We still have a long journey ahead of us and I believe my players will rise to the occasion in the upcoming games,” as reported by Sinar Harian.
“I have been through situations like this, but we need to step up our game. We will assess our position again after the fifth or sixth match.”
On the other hand, the former national team coach does not agree with the opinion that his strikers are unable to score goals.
“We will wait for the next game to evaluate the effectiveness of our attackers. The supporters need to understand that only Gilmar Jose (from Brazil) started the game yesterday, whereas Ndumba Makeche (from Australia) just recovered from injury and was introduced in the second half.
Sarawak will face Perak in the Malaysia FA Cup on Saturday, before traveling to Kota Bharu to take on Kelantan next Friday.
