K. Devan and his under-pressure Kelantan squad will be travelling to Jengka this Wednesday, where they will be facing league leaders, FELDA United.
However, the Kelantan squad is already in Kuala Lumpur as they are training on the Malaysian Sports Council’s (NSC) synthetic field in Bukit Jalil, to prepare for the FELDA match.
FELDA United’s homeground, the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium is the first football-only stadium in Malaysia and it features a synthetic field – something K. Devan wants his players to get used to, before their game.
“We made the decision to train in Bukit Jalil where my team will be undergoing two training sessions before travelling to Jengka, tomorrow,” Devan told Sinar Harian.
“We have to adapt when we meet FELDA because we will be playing on a synthetic field. There’s definitely a difference in terms of passing and how the ball bounces,” he explained.
The Red Warriors are currently 5th on the MSL table with a total of 12 points while league leaders, FELDA have collected a total of 21 points.
