Thanks to Faiz Subri, the whole country is ecstatic about sending our first ever Malaysian to the FIFA Award Ceremony in Zurich.
We can’t even begin to imagine the excitement Faiz must be feeling at the moment. His longtime dream about meeting his long-time idol Cristiano Ronaldo is about to unfold into reality.
He will also be in the presence of other A-list footballers like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Antoine Griezmann, just to name a few.
However, the 29-year old has yet to receive any information regarding the prestigious event, and he hasn’t really made any preparations yet. But what he does know is that he’d like to grace the red carpet in a baju Melayu; so long as it doesn’t contravene the dress code set by FIFA.
Apart from that, Faiz also wants to deliver his acceptance speech in Bahasa Malaysia, should he eventually win the Puskas award.
“I think I’ll feel more pride if I deliver the speech in Malay. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, because it’s our national language.” Faiz said. “This achievement is not mine alone, it belongs to every Malaysian,” he added.
We really can’t wait to see you up there, Faiz!
