Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has handed over the responsibility of hosting, organizing and managing the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat to what appears to be an independent body called Liga Bolasepak Rakyat Sdn. Bhd (LBR).
LBR Sdn Bhd manager, Datuk Dr. Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman, extends his gratitude to FAM for placing their trust in LBR Sdn Bhd, and that he is looking forward to spearhead the growth of this league.
“We receive this responsibility with full confidence that LBR will not only develop potential talents at grassroots level but also to allow aspiring managers, coaches, referees and other officials to gain reputation before rising up the football industry,” he told in a press conference organized by FAM.
The idea for LBR was inspired by FAM’s president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah. The main mission of the league is to give an opportunity to aspiring players to compete at the district level in a structured and professional organization.
Despite only being being officiated in September 2015, LBR already has 110 teams registered all over the country.
