“Chin up, ladies!” – Malaysian divers put on brave performance in 10m platform final

Pandelela Rinong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri were left frustrated in the women’s 10m platform final earlier this morning, despite putting on a brave performance against what was an incredibly strong field of divers.

Pandelela, who is already a Rio 2016 silver medalist, struggled to consistently clock in scores above the 70-mark, which pushed her down the pecking order, as the rounds went by. She finished 11th with a total score of 330.45 points.

Nur Dhabitah Sabri also faced the same issue – though at the tender age of 17, Malaysia seems to have a fantastic talent at its disposal.

She performed admirably in two rounds, which allowed her to place above Pandelela on the overall rankings. She secured 9th spot with a total score of 338.00 points.

As predicted, China secured the top two positions through Ren Qian [Gold] and Si Yajie [Silver], with Canada’s Meghan Benefit clinching bronze.
