JDT sign four new import players ahead of MSL 2017 campaign

Three-time Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim are all prepared to take on the new season with a bang.

The club has signed two new Argentines, namely Brian Ferreira, Gonzalo Cabrerra, and Gabriel as JDT are looking to improve the competition in the team. They also nabbed former PKNS player, Gabriel Guerra.

The two new Argentine players are not signed for heck of it, Brian Ferreira was playing in Independiente, the same club that Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero used to play in during his youth. Ferreira also played for the under-21 Argentine national team, and has been eyed by the likes of FC Porto and Manchester.

Gonzalo Cabrerra is a 27-year old seasoned midfielder at Al-Faisaly FC, a Saudi Arabian football club.

Gabriel Guerra will now resume his training with JDT II, and may move up to the first team if he proves himself worthy.

In a Facebook statement, coach Mario Gomez revealed that they have let players like Harris Harun and Nazmi Faiz go out on loan because they are no longer part of JDT’s long term project.

While we’re at it, JDT has also revealed a local signing on Facebook, R. Gopinathan, who moved from Selangor FA to the Southern Tigers.
