Two Malaysian golfers, Daeng Abdul Rahman and Ben Leong have made the cut for the 2017 Maybank Championship Malaysia.

They will be joining other world class golfers from all over Asia and Europe at the Palm Course, Saujana Golf & Country Club from February 9 to 12 in 2017.

The tournament will feature a total of 156 players from the Asian Tour and European Tour, competing for a whopping US$3 million prize.

Amongst the stars who will be at the Maybank Championship include South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel and Asian favourite Anirban Lahiri.

“The Maybank Championship is one of the marquee events in Asia for the European Tour so I am really looking forward to being there.” Schwartzel said.

“The 2017 season has started well for me so I am feeling good about the year ahead and am excited to see what I can do when I get to Malaysia in February. Maybank does a great job for the players and I am excited to experience their ‘golf like never before’ for myself.”

“I am not too nervous about next year as I’ve played with some top players before, but it depends who I get to play with.” Malaysia’s Daeng said.

Daeng, whose, current World Ranking 414, will be making his first appearance at the Maybank Championship but has played with some big names on home soil before and he learnt a lot from the experience.
