CR7: I’d have more Ballon d’Or than Messi if we were in the same team

Real Madrid’s golden boy Cristiano Ronaldo soaked in all the pride and glory yesterday as he picked up his fourth Golden Ball [Ballon D’Or] yesterday. The Portugal international previously won it in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

His arch-rival is, of course, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, who has racked up a total of five Golden Balls. In fact, the Ballon D’Or ceremony has been revolving around the two players for years.

As football fans, we always can’t help but to wonder how the two will fare in the same team. Who will score more goals, who will be Man of the Match, and who will win all the prestigious accolades?

According to a high-and-mighty Cristiano, it will be him.

“It would be interesting to see both of us in the same team,” Ronaldo replied when asked the million-dollar question.

“I think great players should play together. So if we were in the same team, I think I would have more than him, but he wouldn’t be far off.”

“Everyone knows Messi is a great player,” he added. “He’s won five Ballons d’Or.”
