Malaysia had a successful run at the recent World Silat Championships held in Bali, Indonesia. Our national team bagged three gold medals on the final day of the event.
Mohd Al-Jufferi Jamari defeated Thailand’s Koibehem Kubawa in the finals, and the victory brought his total number of world titles up to 3. He competed in the Putra E class category.
Razak Ghazali beat Indonesia’s Iqbal Chandra 3-2 in the Putra D class to finish on top, while Siti Rahmah defeated Nguyen Thi Anh of Vietnam 5-0 in the Putri E Class finals.
Overall, Malaysia collected enough wins and finished third in the World Silat Championships. Indonesia finished on top of the table, followed by Vietnam.
National silat team manager Datuk Osman Nok is satisfied with the results, as Malaysia is still the world’s top 3 in silat rankings.
Congratulations to Datuk Osman and the national silat team!
