Looks like Lady Luck really does not want to be on Indonesia’s side for this year’s AFF Suzuki Cup.
The Red-and-Whites started out their Suzuki Cup campaign without their key midfielder, Irfan Bachdim, who suffered a last-minute injury during training. Bachdim was ruled out for two months after their official doctor confirmed that he had a fracture in his fibula.
But still, Indonesia soldiered on and scraped through the group stage and made it to the semi-finals. In their upcoming semi-finals fixture against Vietnam, the team will have to deal with two more players who will be absent, Fachrudin and Rudolof Basna. Both centre backs will miss the semi-finals due to suspension.
To make matters worse, their captain and vital figure Boaz Solossa might join the list of players who will miss the semis.
Boaz did not train with the team on Tuesday because he was reportedly under the weather. He has been vomitting and feeling unwell, so he will be rested until he recovers.
Boaz scored goals in both matches in the group stage, against Thailand and Philippines.
Indonesia will host Vietnam at the Pakansari Stadium in Bogor this Saturday for the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final. The second leg will be held in Hanoi on the 7th of December.
