Malaysia’s World Superbikes Championship (WSBK) hopeful Zulfahmi Khairuddin has confirmed that he will be in action in the upcoming Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Thailand.
The 25-year old was selected via the wild card round. He will be racing in the SuperSport 600cc premier class with the BikeArt team, using a Kawasaki. Zulfahmi will also be racing alongside his former Malaysian competitor, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman.
The Banting-born racer told Berita Harian that he’s looking forward to the race as it’s a chance for him to test his capability by racing against other competent opponents from all over Asia.
Prior to this, Zulfahmi competed on the World Motorcycle Champioship (MotoGP) in the Moto3 class.
“For me, it’s a great opportunity to meliorate my skills and it’s a good test to see how prepared I am for the new WSBK season, because all the ARRC racers are pretty great.”
He also thanked his team BikeArt for the opportunity to let him race.
“The team has not set any specific target for me. But it will be great if I can compete with the racers upfront and record a good result.”
