These cars are made for crashing… or so it would seem with a handful of football players.
Barcelona star Neymar reportedly crashed his £240,000 Ferrari Spider just hours before match. Barcelona was up against Real Sociedad in a league match.
The accident happened as Neymar was on his way to the club, just before heading to the airport to leave for the Anoeta Stadium at San Sebastian. According to CBS Sports, the Ferrari Spider only suffered minor damages on the left side. It would seem that Neymar lost control of the vehicle as his car spun around and he stopped facing the oncoming traffic.
Fortunately, the 24-year escaped unscathed, and he still played the match against Real Sociedad on Sunday evening.
In the last 24 meetings between the two Spanish teams, Barcelona has won 14 matches, lost 6, and drawn 4.
Although Sociedad is easy for Barcelona to beat at Camp Nou, they can be very strong at home in Anoeta. True enough, the Catalans only managed a draw at Anoeta. Lionel Messi scored a goal at the 59th minute, while Da Silva netted one for the home side at the 53rd time.
