What a blow!
Indonesia’s hopeful star and midfielder Irfan Bachdim will unfortunately miss the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016, after sustaining an injury during training.
The 28-year old, also hailed as the David Beckham of Indonesia, suffered an ankle fracture after training on Tuesday morning. Indonesia’s official team doctor Syarief Alwi has confirmed that Bachdim has a fracture in his fibula.
What’s even worse is that the midfielder will need at least two months to recover from the injury, which completely rules him out from participating in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016.
This is a very bad news for Indonesia–Bachdim is an important figure in Indonesia’s midfield and a very hardworking player.
Indonesia will be making their way to the Philippines without the baby-faced midfielder this Thursday. They will be taking on Thailand on Saturday, 19th of November.
