It’s official.
Donald Trump will be elected as United States of America’s 45th President, after acquiring 276 electoral votes, passing the 270-mark that’s needed to clinch victory.
Shockwaves are being felt all over the world as speak, as leaders of countries panic and organise national meetings to discuss this particular result. But at the same time, people on the ground are also shell-shocked, considering how unlikely this scene seemed, when Trump first announced his presidential hopes.
When you think about it, it’s been an incredible year for the underdogs. Leicester City – a positive underdog – clinched the Premier League title earlier this year, despite being 5000/1 outsiders. Soon after that, UK shockingly voted to leave the EU, as Brexit shocked the entire world for the second time.
But the final blow comes in the form of Donald Trump, who will officially become America’s next President – despite having odds stacked against him. Ironically, no one saw any of these coming.
