‘Special One’ charged by the FA, set to face touchline ban

It’s not a good week for Jose.

Manchester United’s manager Jose Mourinho could be facing a fine, touchline ban or stadium ban following a second charge by the Football Association.

The Portuguese was charged for making comments about referee Anthony Taylor ahead of the Liverpool game a few weeks back. He said it will be “difficult” for Anthony Taylor to referee the game, and will put “pressure” on Manchester based officials.

Mourinho is now facing a second charge after allegedly using abusive words towards referee Mark Clattenburg.

“José Mourinho has been charged with misconduct following Manchester United’s game against Burnley on Saturday 29 October 2016. It is alleged that in or around the tunnel area at half-time he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official.” the FA statement read.

The two offences will be treated separately, and Mourinho has until the 4th of November, 6pm to respond.
