Team Malaysia recorded an impressive feat at the recent Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix that took place at Sepang.
Hafizh Syahrin from team Petronas Raceline Malaysia who participated in Moto2 finished fifth. Khairul Idham Pawi from Team Honda Asia finished eight in the Moto3 category.
South Africa’s Brad Binder who won the 2016 Moto3 World Championship appeared to be impressed with the Malaysian racers and he believes that our local racers have what it takes to be champions.
“Consistency is key. You have to make it through all 18 rounds in the race. If you can always stay in the lead, you have a good chance of winning, and becoming champion.” Binder told the press.
Speaking of Khairul Idham, Binder said that he’s a “disciplined racer” even outside the circuit. It’s only Khairul’s first season, but he’s already putting up a tough fight!
“Even as a rookie, Khairul has had two wins, and that shows that he’s a very good racer and has a lot of potential.”
Khairul Idham has won both the Germany and Argentina Grand Prix. Apart from him and Hafizh Syahrin, Ramdan Rosli of Petronas AHM Malaysia also garnered attention as he finished 12th in the Moto2.
