Aww don’t we just love humble stories like this?
Manchester City midfielder Raheem Sterling made sure everyone had a pleasant flight when they discovered that we has onboard an easyJet flight from Malaga to Manchester.
Despite making 200,000 euros a week, Sterling decided to take an easyJet flight back to Manchester, as easyJet is the only budget airline that provided direct flights from Malaga to Manchester.
The 21-year old was making his way back to the club after spending some quality time with his girlfriend, Paige Milian in Marbella, Malaga. Sterling was also recovering from a calf injury and he missed England’s World Cup qualifiers.
One passenger told The Sun, “My friend had gone to the toilet and I was looking down the aisle to see if I could see her. The air steward asked me if I was okay and I said I was trying to see my friend.”
“He said ‘oh I thought you were trying to see the famous footballer we have on board sat in row 6C.’ I asked who it was and he said Raheem Sterling. I couldn’t believe my eyes.” he added.
Gosh, what a lucky day for those passengers. Perhaps one day we’d catch Cristiano or Messi on an AirAsia flight during pre-season?
