People say it’s never too early to start. Thirteen-yeard old Celtic youth Karamoko Dembele is living proof to that, as he debuted for Celtic’s Under 20s.
Dembele took the pitch at the 81st minute to replace Jack Aitchison as Celtic celebrated their 3-1 victory over Hearts at Cappielow. Aitchison himself is only 16, and he was Celtic’s youngest ever player last season.
Celtic took to their website to express their admiration for the young prodigy, calling it a “magical moment”, and commending Dembele as he “didn’t look out of place” and adeptly played his part in the final minutes of the match:
At only thirteen, the boy has so much ahead of him, including the pressure to take after his namesake, Belgian international Moussa Dembele, as well as Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembélé. He’s already being dubbed as the “New Messi”!
