The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will make necessary changes to the national team in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
According to the secretary of BAM, Ng Chin Chai, the national badminton governing body has decided to reshuffle the squad prior to the Rio Olympics.
“It was an early decision to make the change after the Olympics. We’ll rearrange the team according to our target in four years’ time and we hope we’ll top our current medal haul,” he told the press after returning from Rio yesterday.
The national badminton squad delivered three out of the five medals won in Rio when Lee Chong Wei clinched his third Olympic silver, alongside men’s doubles duo Goh V Shem / Tan Wee Kiong, and mixed doubles pairing Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying, who also won the silver.
