National diver, Nur Dhabitah Sabri is looking forward to bringing a medal back to Malaysia at Tokyo 2020 after finishing ninth in the 10m individual platform event at the recently concluded Rio Olympics.
Dhabitah managed to place above Pandelela Rinong, who finished 11th in the final after suffering an injury.
“I’ve always tried to remain positive to prevent a loss of focus. That is why I always smile. I thought I’ll only make it to the semi-final in Brazil, but the support from my coach helped me to get to the final.
“We have to join more tournaments after this to get used to international competitions. This will boost our confidence in preparing for tougher battles,” she told Kosmo!
For the record, the national diving squad contributed to Malaysia’s best medal haul at the Olympics when Pandelela and Cheong Jun Hoong clinched the silver in the 10m synchronized platform event.
