Red Giants to face PKNS without star striker Patrick Ronaldinho

Malaysia Cup defending champions Selangor will be slightly ‘underpowered’ when they take on PKNS FC in the Malaysia Cup quarter-final this Sunday without their main striker, Patrick Ronaldinho.

The Liberian forward is ineligible to play due to his status as a loan player from PKNS.

According to Harian Metro, Ronaldinho has to sit the match out as stipulated in the agreement between both clubs.

“That was the term we have set and I’m sure Selangor is aware as well.

“It might be an advantage for PKNS because we are looking for a win to emulate our success in the FA Cup by reaching the final,” said an inside source from PKNS.

This will be a huge blow for the Red Giants as Ronaldinho is their top scorer this season with 17 goals in all competitions.

In fact, the 25-year-old has been in top form since K Gunalan took over from Zainal Abidin Hassan and he appears to be comfortable with the new system employed by the coach.
