After requiring a repechage heat to qualify to the semis, national track cyclist ace Azizulhasni Awang displayed more conviction in the second round to a book a spot in the keirin final.
Azizulhasni, who is also known as The Pocketrocketman, is Asia’s only representative in the final after finishing third in his second round heat behind Britain’s Jason Kenny and Matthijs Buchli of Netherlands.
He’ll be joined by Poland’s Damian Zielinski, Fabian Hernando from Colombia and Germany’s podium favourite, Joachim Eilers.
The men’s keirin final will commence at 5:20 a.m. (local time).
