Perak head coach, Karl Heinz Weigang is definitely not a big fan of the gruelling Malaysian League schedule, after claiming that the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) is trying to ‘kill’ his players with a ‘trashy’ timetable.
“There are only 27 players in the squad, with three of them to be taken out from the list due to injuries and we only have two goalkeepers.
“Besides that, four players have received fresh knocks and I’m extremely disappointed with the scheduling.
“How are we going to maintain our challenge for the remainder of the season with this amount of players? Kevin Ramalingam’s schedule is capable of murdering humans.
“It also didn’t make sense of them for saying it’s the same over in Europe. Which league in the world will have such a tight timetable?” he told the press after Perak’s 1-1 Malaysia Cup draw with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in Larkin.
Weigang is not the first to publicly voice out concerns about the schedule, following in the footsteps of several other coaches, including Kelantan’s Velizar Popov.
