National female diver, Pandelela Rinong is confident that she can handle the pressure in her third Olympic appearance in Rio.
The London 2012 bronze medallist said that she has maintained a strong sense of professionalism in all of the competitions she has competed in before and that she is ready to give her best for the country.
“I’m more confident with my diving skills now as compared to London four years ago. My confidence is also rising after I noticed the improvement in my performance lately.
“I’m still maintaining the level of diving difficulty, it’s just that I can still improve on several aspects such as water entry,” she said, as quoted by Kosmo!
At the same time, the 23-year-old diver is also motivated to give an all-out performance in Rio due to the strong support she has been receiving from Sawarak’s Bidayuh community.
“I’m one of the athletes that has put Malaysia on the map and they are proud of that.
“Considering the fact that I’m always overseas to undergo training, they always express their support via phone calls or social media,” she added.
Pandelela will compete in the 10m individual platform and the 10m synchronized platform with partner Cheong Jun Hoong.
