National under-23 coach, Frank Bernhardt might have just landed himself in hot water after allegedly hitting an official during his side’s 1-0 lost to Japanese club, Shonan Bellmare back in June.
The incident was captured on video and it was uploaded on Youtube with the title: rude Malaysia U22 coach.
The German coach can be seen arguing with the official on the sidelines in the 1 minute 11 second-video, before moving away from the scene after waving his hand in a hitting motion to the official.
FAM have reportedly been informed of the incident and they have requested for a detailed explanation from Bernhardt, who is currently on vacation.
The nation’s football governing body has also sent a letter to the Japan Football Association (JFA) to enquire further about the incident, and FAM will reprimand Bernhardt if he is indeed guilty.
46-year-old Bernhardt was hired to replace Ong Kim Swee and he was tasked to prepare his side for next year’s SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur. His first game ended in a 1-2 defeat against Thailand in the 2016 Nations Cup final in Malacca, last June.
