National women’s singles shuttler, Goh Jin Wei is expected to have a confident display when the individual events of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships begins tomorrow.
Badminton Assocation of Malaysia’s (BAM) Kwan Yoke Meng said he wants to see Jin Wei and the rest of the players maintain their consistency after a good performance in the team event.
She was rested in the quarter-final showdown against China after getting a cramp while partnering M Thinaah in the final group game against Indonesia.
Before that, Jin Wei had to battle it out in a rubber set defeat against Gregoria Mariska.
“Even though Jin Wei clinch the first set with her partner, she had to withdraw from the game due to a muscle cramp after working hard in the singles game.”
“I took the decision to rest her against China to let her recover and regain her charge for the individual events.”
“I hope all of the players including Jin Wei can maintain their good performance in the individual events,” said Yoke Meng, as quoted by Harian Metro.
