Sarawak confirm permanent head coach role for David Usop

The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) have officially confirmed that David Usop will be the man to lead the team into the second half of the Malaysia Super League (MSL) season.

David Usop replaced ex-national team coach Datuk K. Rajagopal as an interim head coach a few months ago after the latter lead The Crocs to last place in the league with four points from ten matches, but the former was announced as the permanent replacement for him.

FAS president Datuk Sudarsono Othman believes David Usop can lead Sarawak to glory.

“We have talked to David and he is up for the challenge,” he said as quoted by Harian Metro.

“We hope that he will be able to restore our position in the second half of the campaign.”

David Usop helped Sarawak jump three places to ninth place in the league after defeating Perak twice in Kuching and Ipoh and ensured an important qualification in the Malaysia Cup.
