The Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) have decided to terminate the services of foreign striker Juan Jose Morales after failing to make an impact at the club this season.
PBSNT president Datuk Wan Nizam Wan Abdul Hamid said that the club put a lot of faith in Juan Morales when the Argentinian forward signed for The Turtles to replace Paulo Rangel at the beginning of the season, but the striker has not impressed at all since joining in February.
The ex-Atletico All Boys player will be replaced with a foreign striker from either Uzbekistan, Australia and Brazil during the Malaysia Super League (MSL) transfer window period.
“We have agreed to replace him (Juan Morales) with another striker and have already shortlisted three players that will be evaluated soon, Wan Nizam said as quoted by Utusan.
“The supporters have begged us to make a change at the club, but it ultimately depends on our financial status and not many fans know what we are going through at the moment.
“We need RM700,00 to pay Juan Jose Morales, his agent and a new foreign player. We have requested RM12 million from the government but have only received RM5.5 million.”
Terengganu are also in talks with Sabah, Sime Darby and Kelantan to sign local players.
PBSNT have already terminated the contract of Amiridzwan Taj due to a number of injuries.
