23 of the 24 teams that set out for Euro glory are still alive as we head into the final round of group matches and that includes Albania despite the fact they sit on no points and have failed to score a goal.
They do of course deserve credit for the stern resistance they have shown in the face of Swiss and French onslaughts but even with captain Lorik Cana back from suspension they should be there for the taking against a Romanian side that will know that only three points will do if they want to stay in France past Sunday night.
Romania’s final Euro 2016 warm up game was a 5-1 thumping of Georgia, opponents no doubt selected to simulate the test Albania will pose.
