What a disgrace!
Everything on the pitch was brilliant! Croatia raced into a 2-0 lead in the second half, courtesy of goals from Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic. But Czech Republic never showed signs of giving up as they slowly crawled back into the game.
Milan Skoda reduced the deficit on the 76th minute, after a brilliant assist from Tomas Rosicky. That goal ensured a nervy ending to the match and true enough, the Czechs eventually sealed their comeback, with Tomas Necid scoring from the spot to make it 2-2 in injury time.
But in between Czech Republic’s first and second goal, the game was temporarily halted as Croatian fans began throwing flares on the pitch. One can only wonder if the incident destroyed Croatia’s tempo in the match?
