The last two meetings between these two nations have finished scoreless but the last of those fixtures was 12 years ago. Northern Ireland have improved out of all recognition since then and while the occasion of their first major tournament may have got to them in their opener against Poland a better showing can be expected in Lyon.
The Ukrainians will also fancy their chances of getting their first Group C points on the board. They gave the Germans a proper game and the pace of Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko could be a contributing factor to an open game of football.
