Adam Lallana: Three Lions unfazed by Welsh wizard Bale

England will not be intimidated by Gareth Bale and co. when they play against Wales on Thursday in their Euro 2016 Matchday 2 fixture, claims Adam Lallana.

Bale got his name on the scoresheet in Wale’s 2-1 victory against Slovakia after scoring a trademark free-kick. It is no surprise that the Welsh winger has dominated the pre-match build-up and is expected to replicate his performance.

However, Lallana is confident his team-mates won’t be fazed by it. “I know that won’t affect our team. We’ve got plenty of players with that aura and special talent,” he said.

Bale has been bullish about his team’s chances in the run-up to the highly significant game after England only picked up a point against Russia, claiming Wales had more “passion” than Roy Hodgson’s men.

Lallana chose not to be intimidated by Bale, and he believes the Welsh side should fear the offensive threat posed by England instead.

England’s attacking line-up boast the likes of Premier League top scorers Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane, along with Daniel Sturridge and 18-year-old Marcus Rashford, who made a huge impression in his debut season with Manchester United’s senior team.

Lallana said: “I think they’ll definitely be thinking about that. Anyone who is playing against us and looking at our team – not just our team but our squad. There are attacking players on the bench we can use and there are great options there.”

So should Wales be worried about England? “I think they will be and will be doing their preparation to try and stop us,” said Lallana.
