Will Kedah bid farewell to Sandro da Silva?

Kedah may have finally solved their foreign crisis after Brazilian striker Bruno Lopes has agreed to attend a trial offered by the club to replace an injury prone Sandro da Silva.

The ex-Albirex Niigata, Ratchaburi and Vila Nova forward arrived in Alor Setar yesterday evening after travelling for more than 41 hours from his hometown in Curitiba. He begun his trial session with The Red Hawks squad at the Peremba Mini Stadium on Monday night.

Bruno Lopes, who can also play as a winger, will be truly tested for the first time when the current Malaysia Premier League (MPL) winners face the Malaysian Indian Football Association (MIFA) in a friendly match at the Darul Aman Stadium tonight at 10pm.

The Kedah Football Association (KFA) have set a goal to beef up their squad for the second half of the Malaysia Super League (MSL) season and the upcoming Malaysia Cup campaign.

Kedah head coach Tan Cheng Hoe is likely to sign Bruno Lopes on a one-year deal to replace Brazilian attacking midfielder Sandro, who has been plagued with injuries the entire season.

Kedah are also interested in signing another foreign player before the transfer window ends.
