PKNS head coach E. Elavarasan has revealed that Gabriel Guerra is yet to report back to the team after being handed a two-week holiday due to a one month break from the league.
The Red Ants returned to training two days ago after the Malaysia Premier League (MPL) was put on hold for a month because of the Ramadhan month. The other foreign players such as Matias Hadwa, Gonzalo Soto and Juan Manuel Cobelli have all reported back to the team.
There have been rumours suggesting that the Premier League topscorer has been spending most of his time in Johor Bahru with Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) and Juan Sebastian Veron.
“He (Guerra) has not reported for training,” E. Elavarasan said as quoted by Stadium Astro.
“Gabriel Guerra is clearly not ready to return to the team. He might have received an offer to play for bigger teams or something urgent must have occurred during the two-week holiday.
“I will hand this issue to the management before I do something about it in a few days.”
The Argentinian forward was seen in a Southern Tigers shirt alongside the likes of The Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, ex-Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron, at the Dato’ Suleiman Mohd Noor Indoor Training Centre on May 22.
Juan Sebastian Veron was in Johor for the Frenz International Cup last month.
