“We are ready to be punished” — KAFA’s Annuar Musa tells FAM

Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa has admitted that his team is ready to be punished by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) because of failing to pay the salaries to five of their formers players as well as ex-head coach Steve Darby.

However, Annuar Musa questioned the lengths taken by the national body to assist KAFA.

“I have already said, what is the point of punishing us for not paying when we are unable to pay? They (FAM) want to punish us by deducting points or demoting us to the Malaysia Premier League (MPL), but will that solve the problem?” he said as quoted by Sinar Harian.

“Do we work together in paying them the salaries or are we just getting punished? We need to work together and they have to give us the time and space to settle this unresolved debt.

KAFA are not only facing the music for not paying salaries to Amiridzwan Taj Tajudin, Amar Rohidan, Ahmad Fakri Saarani, Mohd Fitri Omar and Muhammad Nazri Ahmad, but also to former head coach Steve Darby (RM165,000) and Gilmar Jose da Silva (RM328,000).

Tan Sri Annuar Musa has asked the KAFA Exco to meet the FAM leadership in the near future.

“I have talked to the secretary general (Datuk Ismail Noor) and he will be writing a letter to the secretary general of the FAM (Datuk Hamidin Amin). It is not right just talking to the media because they will just twist the story for their own benefit,” Annuar Musa concluded.

Annuar Musa also said that he will be looking for other sources to help KAFA settle the issue.
