KAFA have one week to settle Steve Darby’s unpaid salary

The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) have been ordered to settle the payment of salary worth RM165,000 to former Kelantan coach Steve Darby before or on the 8th of June.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin also instructed KAFA to pay the salaries of ex-player Gilmar Jose Da Silva (RM328,000) as well as five of their former players, which have been at an outstanding amount of two months.

The FAM disciplinary committee will impose a heavy punishment on KAFA if they fail to pay.

“KAFA must settle their outstanding payment of salary worth RM165,000 to ex-coach Steve Darby before or on June 8,” Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said as quoted by Berita Harian.

“We have given them enough time since April to settle Gilmar’s payment after setting May 15 as the last day. He has not received the full amount of his salary yet. The disciplinary committee will decide the punishment if KAFA fail to pay all their outstanding salaries.

Datuk Hamidin concluded that the association have had enough with KAFA’s attitude of late.

“The FAM have given them all the space to settle the issue but they have failed to do so.”
