Malaysian Paralympic athletes Filicia Mikat as well as Muhammad Ridzuan were both honoured with recognition during the National Sports Awards ceremony in Putrajaya, last night.
Filicia Mikat, who scored three gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games in 2015, was voted as the Female Paralympian of the Year, while Mohammad Ridzuan, who won the 100m T36 (cerebral palsy) gold medal at the 2015 IPC World Athletics Championship, was voted as the Male Paralympian of the Year.

Meanwhile, Pandelela Rinong was given the Female Athlete of the Year accolade for the third time in her career, after yet another stellar year in Diving. At the same time, Mohd Al-Jufferi was voted as the Male Athlete of the Year, having clinched a Silat gold medal at the World Martial Arts Championship in Thailand.
