The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have officially announced Frank Bernhardt’s Under-22 squad for the upcoming Nations Cup tournament, which is scheduled to take place from the 3rd to the 5th of June at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Krubong, Malacca.
The Nations Cup, which is organized by MP & Silva, will allow Frank Bernhardt and his boys to prepare early in order to stand a chance of winning the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
Out of the 29 players that played a part in the games against the Philippines Under-22 team and the Nepal national team in March, 22 were retained by the ex-Estonia youth team coach

The two players that were called up are Selangor’s Adam Nor Azlin and DRB-Hicom’s Sanjef Dinesh. The players that were retained include the likes of Farhan Roslan (Kedah), Dominic Tan (JDT II), Ahmad Khairil Annuar (Perak) and Jafri Firdaus Chew (Penang).
The first edition of the tournament will witness Malaysia as the inaugural host and the participants include AFF Suzuki Cup champions Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. The Under-22 squad will face the Singapore Under-21 team in the first game of the tournament.
The Project 2017 SEA Games squad will then travel to Chiba, Japan on June 9 to undergo a training camp until June 28 and they are scheduled to participate in a couple of friendlies.
