National badminton player Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin does not want to waste his chance of taking part in the Thomas Cup this year after merely being a spectator two years ago.
Iskandar, who was handed the honour of being the second singles player this year, can still feel the disappointment after not featuring in the Thomas Cup in New Delhi back then.
“I was so eager to play back then but my hamstring was badly damaged during a selection session for the singles players,” Iskandar Zainuddin said as quoted by Harian Metro.
“I will not blow my chance this time. I have learned a lot since the injury in 2014.
The World Junior Championship silver medallist is under a lot of pressure for his first Cup.
“The responsibility for the second singles player is heavy. Two years ago, Chong Wei Feng was brilliant as he kept on winning points for Malaysia. This time around, it is my turn.”
